The women started late. While men have been writing literature for more than two thousand years – not least about women – they only really began around 1800.
Over the past two centuries, women have conquered an inescapable place, more or less aimed at specifically female subjects.
A Room of One's Own follows this development as it unfolds through European literature's most prominent female writers. Knud Wentzel has chosen what he considers to be their most significant works. However, agreement on the committee can only be dreamed of.

Knud Wentzel has researched and taught Danish literature at the University of Copenhagen since 1968. This has resulted in books and articles on these topics
