The expansion of poetry explains how contemporary poetry has spread to all parts of society, so that we now not only experience poetry in small, narrow books, but in frequent performances in harmony with music and visual art, as well as on the internet and in social media.
Poesien's expansion is the first comprehensive presentation of Nordic poetry after 2000. In eight chapters, a large number of aspects of contemporary poetry are discussed that have not previously been dealt with in book form. This applies to contemporary poetry's relationship to the poetic genre, the internet, the canonization process, gender, visual art and literary criticism. There are readings of over 75 poetic works, and in many cases these are poets who have not previously had the attention of literary critics, but who undoubtedly have a future ahead of them.
