The memoir also received a terrific reception when it was published in 1945-46. Asta Nielsen, who at this point had put acting behind her, now embarked on a literary career.
A selection of Asta Nielsen's best memoirs - twelve in total - are collected on the pages of this book. It is the first time that they have been published in book form in Danish.
Each text is provided with an introduction written by John Chr. Jørgensen and a final film history note written by Poul Malmkjær.
