Maria Giacobbe writes the tale of loss. Based on a personal experience of the collapse of life, when the danger and thereby the happiness disappeared, Giacobbe's writing tells about the consequences of loss for people: feelings of alienation, division and a life in exile. It can be the loss of a person, a country, a culture, a way of life or a part of oneself. Giacobbe's works also play out the possibilities of coming to terms with what has been lost and establish a field of tension between collapse and construction, where dialogue becomes a catalyst - both as an artistic method and in human development.
With Tabet's story, Vibeke Blaksteen gives an in-depth and also personal portrait of Maria Giacobbe and her writing.
